Supporting Local Shelters & Rescues With What They Need Most

Benson’s CARES is committed to helping animals in need across Upstate New York by collecting and distributing essential pet supplies and food at no cost. Our programs support both established rescues and individuals caring for pets in crisis — all made possible through the generosity of our community, our vendor partners, and Benson’s Pet Center customers.

Offers weekly pet supply pickups — food, litter, toys, and essentials — for those in need.

How We Collect Donations

Our community makes everything we do possible. Here’s how we gather the supplies that support local pets and rescues.

Register Round-Ups

When you shop at Benson’s Pet Center, you can choose to “round up” your purchase total. That extra change goes directly to Benson’s CARES.

In-Store Donation Bins

All Benson’s Pet Center locations have donation bins near the front entrance. Shoppers can drop off new or gently used pet items.

Vendor Donations

We work with manufacturer and distributor reps who donate or offer discounted products that are close to expiration or being phased out.

Bottle Drives (via Clynk)

Pick up a pre-stickered Clynk bag at any Benson’s Pet Center. Fill it with your returnables & bring it to any Hannaford with Clynk.

Benson’s Pet Center Locations

All Benson’s Pet Center locations support Benson’s CARES donation efforts and are open Monday–Saturday: 9am–7pm and Sunday: 10am–6pm. Drop-off bins are available near the front of each store.

You can also bring your clean returnables in bags to our Wilton (Exit 15), Clifton Park, or Colonie locations. The deposits go directly to Benson’s CARES.
