The Cat Room isn’t just a space, it’s a lifeline for cats in transition. It allows them to stay visible, socialized, and safe while they wait for adoption.

A Temporary Home for Cats Waiting on Forever

Since 2021, Benson’s CARES has operated the Cat Room at the Benson’s Pet Center Clifton Park location, giving adoptable cats from local rescue groups a safe and loving environment until they find their forever homes.

Though we’re not a rescue, we provide a foster-style space for adoptable cats from local partners to rest, recover, and meet potential adopters.

Visitors can view the cats through the Cat Room windows anytime during store hours. To meet a cat in person, you’ll need to submit an adoption application, get approved, and schedule an appointment.

Our Adoption Process

Step 01

Fill Out an Application

Please complete our adoption application to be considered as part of the adoption process.

Step 02

Submit Application

Email us your completed application or drop it off at the Cat Room window in Clifton Park.

Step 03

Get Approved

If approved, we’ll call you to schedule an appointment to meet the cats in person.

Step 04

Find Your Match

If we find you a good fit during your visit, you can take your new cat home that day!

We offer an Adoption Package through Astro that includes dry food, freeze-dried food, one can of food, a cat treat, and litter—you only pay the sales tax. Adoption fees are non-refundable and count as a tax-deductible donation to Benson’s CARES.
